 News on Piega Loudspeakers range

Two years ago Piega started the development work for a completely new tweeter system, 20 years since the launch of the now legendary PIEGA LDR ribbon system. This resulted in a new magnetic circuit, made from the most powerful neodymium magnets. Together with the new front plate and its integrated magnetic lenses this produces a really powerful system.

This new development enabled Piega to make a significant improvement in the bundling of the magnetic energy to the plane of the aluminum membrane. By concentrating the magnetic energy on the foil naturally enabled us to take advantage of completely new approaches in the design.

Piega also used a new foil material which offers an outstanding level of quality previously unknown, due to the uniformity of the aluminum crystalline structure. The flat coil layout was also optimized, which enabled the efficiency and the transfer response of the membrane to be increased to an already very high standard. The new LDR 2642 MKII ribbon tweeter with its exceptional properties thus forms the basis for an extraordinary loudspeaker: The Premium 50.2 (Launch: November 2011).

Also other Piega speakers will be improved, namely the Coax 50 e 70 models will go now to mk2 version. Among other improvements, there will be a new design and new damping system. Soon in Luz e Som.
